I’m not sure if this one really qualifies as an Easter Egg, it’s more of a little known feature. wouldn’t it be easier once you have played around with settings like levels, hue and saturation and filter settings to have a ‘reset back to original settings’ button – well now you can!

By simply holding down the Option key, the Cancel button magically transforms to a Reset button, allowing you to stay in the settings dialogue rather than having to hit Cancel and then go back into the dialogue box for your effect/setting.

There aren’t too many Easter Eggs in Photoshop and in their usual tradition, this one doesn’t do much! There is a little Merlin man hiding in Photoshop, and he’s easy to find!

To reveal him all you have to do is hold down the Option key (‘Alt’ for Windows users), click on the little arrow up the top left of the layers palette, and select ‘Palette Options’. He then pops up in a little window entitled ‘Merlin Lives’ with a little ‘Begone’ button below. He doesn’t seem to do anything, but observant ninjas may notice that he (and a few other wizards) also put in an appearance in the thumbnail images in the Layers Palette Options dialogue.

You can reveal some very strange bits of text and comments from the Photoshop development team with this little hidden Photoshop Easter Egg!

Whilst you have the ‘About’ graphic up, you can click on the white space right above the scrolling credits which will then reveal a series of sayings referred to as “Adobe Transient Witticisms.” Holding down Option makes the credits scroll faster and speeds up the display speed of the witticisms too…those crazy Adobe coders!

This is not so much an Easter Egg in the traditional sense, more of a little known hidden feature – as this one may actually be occasionally useful, especially for web designers! When you are working in full screen mode you can change the default surrounding canvas colour (the area around the image) of neutral gray by firstly setting your foreground colour to your desired colour, selecting the Paint Bucket Tool and then clicking anywhere on the outside canvas whilst holding down shift.

This is useful if you want to check out how your image will interact with different colours. It is generally better to switch it back to the default neutral gray once you have finished though as this is the perfect colour to use when colour correcting images. I prefer the slightly lighter than the default neutral grey, which has a colour value of 214/214/214 in RGB (the colourspace monitors display colour in).
