Adobe set to release free online Photoshop to battle Google and similar services

Wow, check this out – in a bid to battle against the growing power of Google on-line applications, it looks like Adobe are going to launch a free ‘cutdown’ version of Photoshop for people to use on websites like Flickr!

As spotted in this article on CNet – Adobe aim to drive the popularity of hosted applications that are used through a web browser and broadband connection.

I wouldn’t get too excited though, I think ‘cutdown’ is the key word here but it certainly sounds like they aim to deliver a very feature rich experience for the end-user.

Overall it seems like a good move for Adobe – and certainly will improve their brand visibility within the market, encouraging sales of their products – which we always like to see!
