Photoshop CS3 XGrid power with OSX10.5 – how many processors have you got?!

Rumours are about on various websites that hint at some very exciting news for Mac Photoshop users – Photoshop CS3 running under MacOSX 10.5 could support XGrid, Apples distributed network processing technology!

If you have ever used (or heard of) network 3D rendering you will be familiar with this concept. Basically you network the Macs together and use their collective processing power to crunch those pixels even faster in Photoshop. It’s like your Mac having a helping hand from any other Macs that are lying around!

This is very exciting news for all studio designers who often have Macs that aren’t being used in their studio, well now you may be able to put them for use for your own pixel shifting purposes!!

Quad core… bah, Im looking at 50+ core processing power in one of the studios I work in – believe me, if this gets integrated into CS3 I’ll be right onto it – and I got plenty of muscle to try it out on!!
