Wacom tablets - an essential tool for any ninja!
If you are serious about Photoshop you really should invest in a Wacom tablet - they are not just the realm of illustrators! If you have never wondered how you control most of the brush dynamics…it’s with a tablet! A great example is creating a ‘whoosh’ of random stars - have it set up so pressure=size (and a bit of randomness thrown in!), and it looks fantastic! Touching up images becomes a-lot faster too as you do less mousing around. I find it very good for touching up layer masks and dodging/burning images.
I have to admit I only personally have an A5 one, which sounds fairly small - but you would be suprised how useable it is. I’ve played around on an A3 one, but nothing compares to a recently trialed piece of hardware - the amazing Wacom Cintiq! This is such a brilliant piece of kit - an LCD screen that is also a pressure sensitive, so you can draw right on it with the special pen!

May be a while before I could justify the cost of that, and there are lots of other things I would prefer to invest in first…mmm…sata raid array!?!

When airbrushing in Photoshop CS3 the programme freezes up. I am running a MacPro 2X2.8GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon + 6Gb RAM with the latest System upgrade10.5.2.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you
