Showing and hiding those distracting vector paths and masks
The paths that define vector shapes and vector layer masks in Photoshop like to reveal themselves to help you out when editing layers, but they can be quite distracting when you are working on layered compositions, making it hard to concentrate on your artwork.
The shortcut you need in this situation is Apple+H which allows you to show and hide guides AND vector paths - this is useful when working with clipping paths to quickly show and hide the path when you are working. It also hides the path of vector shape masks which often reveal themselves when you are working away.
You can temporarily show individual paths or vector clipping masks by hovering your mouse over any layer layer to expose its path whilst you have them hidden if you want to see what’s going on with a specific path without revealing them all.
