Stop flattening or duplicating – start copying merged layers quickly!

Sometimes you need to merge all the existing layers in your document into one layer to either manipulate in a new document or in the existing document – and there is a great little shortcut for this!

This is surprisingly useful for lots of different tasks like moving a whole bunch of layers in one layered image as a single layer into another layered image. It’s great for creative layer effects in your current document too, or for creating layer masks from.

Simply select all (Apple+A) and hold down Apple+Shift+C to copy all visible layers as a merged image!

Crazy! Thanks a ton this was an amazing tip, I’ve had merge them all copy it all then go back with the history pallette to before I merged them, and then paste them in a new window. This saves tons of time! Oi, and I’m to assume CTRL substitutes for “Apple” for windows users? Just a guess, because Apple + A is select all in Mac and CTRl A is select all in Windows.
