What would you like to see on this site – suggestions welcome!

I’ve been writting this site for over 2 years now and I hope even the most expert Photoshop users have got some good tips and tricks from this site. Over the last few months I’ve been thinking about ways to expand the site and what the visitors to this site would really like… so I thought the best way would be to ask you!

I have been thinking about lots of ideas including:

A stock image gallery – I’ve shot and created hundreds of great images – lots of Photoshop fodder!! I also have lots of brush, style and action sets that I’ll be adding to the downloads section soon.

I write and create everything on this site personally and kinda want to keep it that way. However, I’d like to offer some kind of community aspect, so am considering opening up the gallery to members, and other areas of the site.

A subscription based members area. Server bandwidth, time and cost are obviously issues – I’m a self-employed freelance graphic designer, and have to keep a roof over my (and my long suffering girlfriends) head guys! To that end I was also considering a paid members area of high-res downloads. All the brushes and patterns that are available for download currently I also have at very high resolution. I would commit to the generation of new content on a monthly basis. I could also offer email forwarding so members could have myname@photoshopninja.com which would forward to myname@hotmail.com. This would be priced at around $25 a year.

I’d welcome any other ideas, maybe topics I’ve not covered – what do you think?

I’ve certainly not been reading PSN for two years, so I’ve a lot to discover in the archives yet – about another whole year of archives or thereabouts ;-)

I have one idea, which is just something I’ve always enjoyed reading elsewhere: from your huge image archive, offer us a sort of behind the scenes, or a before and after, if you will. Tell us how an image came about, what the choices were which you made, why you made them. Or tell us what you would do differently now, given a trend or a style you were then adhering to but perhaps less so now.

Whatever you do, don’t stop writing. Cheers!

Nils – thanks for the comments, it’s good to know that someone is finding all this stuff useful!

That’s a good idea, I like the idea of a ‘before and after’ type explanation, thats not something I had thought about. I tend not to write about how to create wacky effects, I feel there are enough sites that provide the ‘how to create a glassy looking button’ type tutorials, but style and workfow tutorials I can dig!

Stick around to see some changes soon… I’d love to re-design this site, but am just too busy at the moment! I thought it best for me to work out what the functionality and additional features are going to be before the redesign so I can build all that in.
